University of York, MA Public History, Academic Year 2023/24: From 1700-2024: Inside an 18th Century General Election


In the spring of 2024, two students from the University of York MA Public History course worked alongside our 17th century specialists to create a series of content discussing Georgian Elections.

Every day from the dissolution of Parliament on 30 May 2024 until the General Election date on 4 July, a new piece of Georgian elections content was published on the History of Parliament website and social media channels. This included a series of short form videos and online exhibitions curated by the placement students, as well as more formal prose and reflective articles from internal and external parliamentary history experts.
